The review looks at how learning, language, provision and adult interaction work together across your EYFS practice. It is supportive rather than judgemental, with a focus on recognising strengths, identifying a small number of meaningful priorities and agreeing practical next steps.

About Vanessa

Practical support, grounded in real classroom experience.
I’m Vanessa, founder of Read, Play, Create and a former primary teacher, school leader and English lead, with experience across EYFS through to Year 6.
​
Read, Play, Create originally grew from hands-on story and play sessions with young children and families. Planning, creating and watching children use those environments gave me a really clear view of what helps children engage, communicate, imagine, problem-solve and learn.
​
Today, I combine that practical experience with my teaching and leadership background to support early years settings and primary schools with language, literacy, purposeful provision, progression and professional development.
I’m particularly interested in helping settings move away from simply asking “What activity shall we put out?” and towards clearer decisions about what children need to learn and how adults, language and provision can support that learning.
